I can't praise the state parks in Pennsylvania enough. Last month, we took a trip to Ohiopyle State Park and stayed a couple of nights in this beauty (not this exact one, but one very similar). For those of you who really have no idea what a yurt is, I will describe this one for you: it's like a tent, only permanent. Inside of it there are bunk beds and other furniture, a stove top, cabinets, kitchen table, heaters/fans and linoleum on the floor. These particular yurts are REALLY nice. On this camping trip, it rained the entire first day. I was so thankful to have this nice, dry shelter to come back to after playing in the park. And it still feels like you're camping--there's a fire pit and picnic table out in the front.
Other great things about Ohiopyle: waterfalls and other beautiful scenery, trails galore (including a rail trail for biking), close proximity to two of Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpieces (Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob), and whitewater rafting. (I'm sure I'm excluding a lot of other really fun things).
Unfortunately, I didn't take out the camera at all on this trip, probably because of the water. But we did squeak out a bike ride and hike. We'll definitely going back next year (maybe this winter for a cross-country ski trip. . .).
